Connecting with Nature via Art

Scientific understanding is one way to get in touch with the infinite marvel of life and existence. Another one is Art. Whether it is literature and poetry, painting, dancing or photography and videography - the artistic vision can help us to focus our senses, strenghten our creativity and give expression to the infinite. Art makes us pause, see, think and feel. My primary way of artistic engagement with Nature is Photography. For me it is perfect! I used to measure the quality of a lot of mountaineering tours by the speed I could reach the summit. To be fast on the mountain and off the mountain was achievement for me. Now I measure the quality of a trip to the mountains by the things seen, smelled, touched, perceived, the things that puzzeld me and make me stand in awe. And photography is a perfect way to intensify the experience, sharpen the eye - transform feelings and ideas into images and expressions.
